Project coordination

Questacon is providing, as an Australian in-kind contribution to the project, the services of the Project Overseer, Mr Brenton Honeyman, and the secretariat & website support required to coordinate the project.

International Steering Group

The project will be guided by an International Steering Group, whose members are:

  • Ms Alejandra Leon Castella, Executive Director, RedPOP
  • Dr Tuan Chiong Chew, Chief Executive of the Singapore Science Centre
  • Dr Sook-Kyoung Cho, Director, Department of External Cooperation, Korea Science Foundation
  • Dr Wen-Hao Chou, Deputy Director, National Museum of Natural Science, Chinese Taipei
  • Mr Brenton Honeyman (Project Coordinator), Secretary of the Asia-Pacific Network of Science & Technology Centres
  • Ms Lesley Lewis, Director General and CEO of the Ontario Science Centre, Canada
  • Dra Julia Tagüeña, Executive Director of RedPOP (Latin American Network for the Popularisation of Science and Technology).
  • Ms Bonnie VanDorn, Executive Director of the Association of Science-Technology Centres
  • Mr Chee-Kuen Yip, Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Science Museum

Participating institutions

A network of science centre and museum contact officers from each participating APEC economy will provide data and exemplars for collation and analysis by the project. Another network of government officers will assist in disseminating project outcomes.

Funding

The project is seeking a total of US$60 000 per year for three years to meet the cost of engaging the project officer and additional specialist consultancy services to undertake the detailed work of collating data and input from surveys, seminars, workshops etc; conduct data analyses; assemble best-practice case studies and prepare them for publication; prepare project reports. Economies are invited to contribute funds towards this cost.
