2 AWESOME FILMS for FREE!
DEAR ASPAC Family,
GREAT NEWS! We are delighted to let you know that ASPAC received 2 film gifts from St. Giant Films in New Zealand for showing in ASPAC science centers/museums. This offer for the 2 films is ABSOLUTELY FREE. We strongly encourage that you show these also to less fortunate audiences for free.
These are the films:
1. 'National Parks Adventure.' It is a film about natural wonders belonging to no one but to all. We have previewed this film and we think that the staggering beauty of natural parks shown in the film will rouse audiences to take stock and really ACT in favor of the planet and humanity. As a show of ASPAC solidarity on Earth Day on April 22, ASPAC hopes you can show the film to your audiences starting on April 22.
2. ‘American Musical Journey’, is a story of the diverse cultures that gathered together to innovate and create new forms of thought and music in America. Unique in its narrative power, this film challenges audiences to see the connections between art, history, language, and science.
As you know, films for IMAX and giant-screen theatres are designed to educate and enlighten as much as they are to entertain. They present new knowledge in a powerful, popular medium and inspire thoughtful, lively discussion.
The National Parks Adventure Educator Guide focuses on the natural sciences highlighted by the film, but educators will find that National Parks Adventure touches on many other subjects as well—geography, history, and language arts all have strong tie-ins with the film.
The America’s Musical Journey Educator Guide contains 10 humanities STEM lessons designed to teach key language, social studies, and science standards using the STEM instructional techniques of experiential learning, investigative thinking, and model testing. The activities in the guide contain open-ended prompts for students to design artifacts, make predictions, and evaluate decisions.
BOTH films will be made available for FREE for those who sign up in this sheet by March 25 for showing in your science centers and museums until May 22.
Here are the 2 easy steps to follow:
