International Symposium of Science Museums is an annually organized event by the National Science Museum (NSM). As the headquarter of science museums and centers in the Republic of Korea, NSM has built bridges between the public, museum specialists, educators and academic experts, as well as the members of science museums and centers from home and abroad. The mission of ISSM is to discover key issues in science museums and science centers to prepare for the future; to facilitate interdisciplinary discussion among science, technology, humanities, social sciences, art and cultural studies. Moreover, ISSM creates a global network for anyone who wishes to contribute to science museums and science centers.
From 2011, ISSM has pursued to uncover the major issues facing science museums and centers today, provided a platform for experts from around the world to exchange opinions and to find new solutions. During the Symposium, you will be joined by other fellow speakers and participants across the globe to share about this year’s theme, sustainable development goals, through Korea’s excellent meeting technology.
ISSM is looking for a speaker to keep a keynote address for 15 minutes, discussion with a moderator for 15 minutes and Q&A session for 10 minutes on the theme of Science Museums and Science Centers with sustainable development goals.
